Jack has been hard at the business of play. He is still trying hard to crawl and is ALMOST there. This morning, I know I saw him move forward on all fours. Most of the time, he knows he can get where he wants to go by scooting, but he's figured out that he is supposed to crawl, and wants to do so! He is successful for the most part, but occasionally we have moments that look like this:
Hang in there buddy! We know you'll be crawling soon!
The snow has been a big hit at our house too! In a remarkably winterish winter, we have had two "big" snows in the past month and a half. NC hardly ever has this happen but we've had two that have brought us 7 inches! Wow! Jack has been outside a few times and seems to enjoy it...until he gets cold. He hates wearing his mittens (you can't suck your finger that way) so his little fingers get cold really fast and he lets us know he's not happy!
We celebrated LeGrande's 40th birthday last Saturday, complete with cake and snow cream!
What a fun day to celebrate the amazing man who makes both of us feel so loved and who works so hard to provide for us. LeGrande is a wonderful Daddy and absolutely adores Jack and the feeling is obviously mutual! I love watching him teach Jack new things and play with him. Jack is so blessed to have this wonderful man to love and be loved by, watch and learn from as HE grows into a man.
Our little guy LOVED the snow cream, but we weren't surprised. He will eat basically anything you put in front of him. We're pretty much saying goodbye to Gerber and hello to homecooking. :) This is a nice change! His faves??? Steamed broccoli, black beans, anything sweet (he gets it honest), pieces of chicken or turkey burger, peas, and pieces of prunes. He doesn't even mind spicy foods and has eaten enchiladas and lasagna with gusto! I have no idea how he accomplishes this without teeth. Of course, he prefers to self-feed, so this makes for ONE BIG HAPPY MESS!
It's so hard to believe that our first year with Jack is coming to a close. Before we know it, April 8 will roll around again and bring with it a birthday party! We have loved ever minute (well mostly every minute!) of parenthood and of course, Jack!
