We spent his actual birthday as a family, which was great! LeGrande was off for two days so on the "real" birthday, we took Jack out to breakfast and then to the pediatrician for a check up and some owies...a blood draw from a finger prick and 3 shots. Jack was a brave little guy and endured it well, crying only a few minutes. He's no worse for them now that they are over!
As far as growth stats- he's 21 lbs 6 oz and 29.5 inches tall. That's a gain of 13lbs 4 oz and 9.25 inches since birth! WOW! He's slowed down a bit and is no longer at 95% but that's okay! He's a busy boy on the move! We did turn his car seat around and he loves being a forward facing guy, pointing out cars and buses and tractors on the road!
On Saturday, our family and friends joined us for a birthday bash at the park, which is very close by. We had a cookout and enjoyed the gorgeous weather while 15 kids played on the adjacent playground. After lunch we all watched Jack dig into his birthday cake! We'd given him a little cake on his actual birthday, which he TORE into. No dabbling in icing for this boy! He tore it up, stuffed it in, and would probably have kept going but we had to cut him off! Here's a peek at the boy loving his cake!
We know that many more delights are to come, but this has been an incredible year. Being parents to this precious little boy has been a total joy. We are so proud of the loving, adventurous, sweet, and full-of-life boy that we are getting to raise. Happy Birthday, Jack-o! We love you!
